Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One this weekend, with the couples facing off in some of the most challenging Latin and Ballroom dances to date. Hot on the heels of Movie Week's success, the stars will need to up their game to surpass their previous performances.

Before the live show kicks off, the BBC has unveiled the dance pairings and songs for the upcoming episode. However, one name conspicuously absent from the list was Nick Knowles, who missed out on Movie Week owing to an injury and remains unlisted for the coming weekend.

Regarding Knowles' status, the broadcaster stated: "We will update with more news on Nick when we have it."

The much-loved hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman expressed their best wishes to Nick during last week's broadcast after he had to withdraw due to his condition.

Previously, a Strictly spokesperson reported: "Unfortunately, Nick Knowles sustained an injury during rehearsals and as a result, will not dance this weekend. As per the rules of the competition, Nick and Luba will receive a bye through to next week when he is hopefully able to dance again.

Meanwhile, Nick had expressed his disappointment on Instagram last week, saying: "Gutted not to be out there with everyone tonight on the @bbcstrictly dance floor, but still suited up and cheering them on from the sofa."

However, he has not yet shared any updates on his training for this week, leaving fans concerned.

Head judge Shirley Ballas provided an update on Virgin Radio UK, stating: "Apparently, he is possibly on the mend."

"We are hoping that by the weekend he will be back because he is an asset to the show."
