'I found a way to take hundreds off Samsung's S24 Ultra phone with clever deal stack'

The Galaxy S24 Ultra, the ultimate among Android smartphones comes with a hefty price tag due to its premium features. The starting price for the standard 256GB model is an eye-watering £1,249, and it only climbs further if you opt for additional storage.

However, if the cost has previously been a no-go for you, now may be a good time to look, thanks to an early Black Friday deal. Samsung has launched a limited-time promotion that could see customers snapping up this flagship phone for less than half its usual price. And it's thanks to two sales, which Tech Editor Dave Snelling at The Mirror explains how to pair together.

"To begin with, Samsung is offering a 20% discount code that can be applied at checkout. By entering the code TWENTY when purchasing the Ultra, the retail price plummets from £1,249 to just £1,000", as he explains. This can then be double-up with Samsung's convenient trade-in offer.

Samsung's trade-in programme offers up to £490 off the S24 Ultra for those trading in a Galaxy Z Fold5 or a £455 reduction for trading in an S23 Ultra. It's become a well-known offer associated with the Galaxy brand to get shoppers an extra discount all while recycling their old phone.

This means the price of the S24 Ultra could be reduced to £510 – that's less than half the original price. But it is worth noting you need a pretty new phone to get to that price. Alternatively, there are other options to trade in, as Samsung will accept other models including Apple, Google, and Huawei with a minimum £100 discount for 'other' branded phones.

The S24 Ultra is the biggest phone in Samsung's newest wave of S models

The iPhone 14 Pro Max can be traded in for £430, the iPhone 14 Pro for £350, and the iPhone 14 for £260. Time is limited on the deal as the TWENTY discount code expires on October 29 as Samsung urges shoppers that "the time is NOW", it comes as the brand makes a hint towards its early Black Friday sales too in order to 'beat the queues'.

Now, cost-cutting aside, why is the Galaxy S24 Ultra worth buying? As a flagship 2024 model, there are plenty of speed, design and performance reasons why it's one to pick as Dave explains. He said: "This top-of-the-range phone boasts a massive 6.8-inch AMOLED screen, a speedy Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, and an impressive battery life.

"It's crafted from durable titanium and features a quad-lens camera on the back that delivers stunning zoom capabilities and excellent low-light performance. An S Pen stylus is included for note-taking and doodling on the screen without using your finger."

The Ultra also comes with full access to Samsung's smart Galaxy AI, which can translate calls in real time, edit photos with a single tap, and transcribe recordings into fully editable text. If the Galaxy S24 Ultra isn't for you, Sky Mobile is currently offering the iPhone 16 from £26 per month with no upfront fee.

Samsung's array of S24 smartphones is a range we cover regularly and since doing so there have been a few comments on the S24 Ultra's weight, which may be a downside for some intrigued shoppers. At 233g its weight accounts for its larger size but it is significantly heavier to use and hold up to your ear than the smaller standard S24 at 167g.
