Strictly Come Dancing star Nick Knowles' future on the show has finally been confirmed following his recent injury.

The DIY SOS presenter, 62, was forced to pull out of the show last week after suffering an injury in rehearsals, just a day before he and pro partner Luba Mushtuk were due to dance in the Movie Week live show.

Earlier this week, he revealed that his future on the show is still hanging in the balance however it has now been confirmed that he will be returning to the dance floor on Saturday night (October 12) as medics have given him the ‘all clear’.

A BBC Spokesperson confirmed: “We are all delighted that Nick Knowles and Luba Mushtuk will be dancing in this Saturday’s show. Nick has been cleared to dance by the medical and physio teams following his injury last week. Due to time taken out of training this week, they will be performing their Movies Week Charleston to Rain On The Roof from Paddington 2.”

Meanwhile during Friday's episode of Strictly spin off It takes Two, host Fleur East also broke the news to the fans as she confirmed: “Nick Knowles and Luba will dance again on Saturday, we will finally get to see his Charleston.”

Nick and his pro dance partner Lube will be performing their planned routine for last week, a Charleston based on the iconic children's character Paddington Bear.

He returned to rehearsals on Wednesday and was preparing to perform the dance with Luba.

During an appearance on It Takes Two on Wednesday (October 9) alongside host Janette Manrara and Luba, Nick explained that he was at that time still unsure if he'll be able to perform on the weekend.

Janette enquired directly regarding his condition and potential updates, prompting Nick to disclose: "Each day gets a little bit better. On Friday it looked pretty bad, to be honest, and it felt bad. On Saturday it was not so good but I had a scan and after that, we decided that we would wait until Monday to see if it got any better."

He added: "Monday was a little bit stronger and today I got to see the physios and I've had help from all the rehab and physio and doctors and they have given me clearance to try and dance tomorrow to train. If I train tomorrow then it might not necessarily be the end of it."
