Aldi issues 'emergency' recall notice as it removes popular food from sale

The dip is being recalled due to it containing peanuts, which were not declared on the packaging

by · Wales Online

Aldi has issued an "emergency withdrawal and public product recall" for a popular food item. It said its Carlos Takeaway Garlic and Herb Dip could contain peanuts that were not declared on the packaging.

This poses a risk to anybody with an allergy. As a result, the supermarket has removed the product from sale and is issuing a recall for those already sold.

Aldi said: "Please note that the following emergency withdrawal and public product recall has taken place as the product may contain undeclared allergen (peanut)."

The products that are affected have a weight of 100g and product codes of 714942 or 724201. All batch codes are affected.

Aldi said customers with questions could also call 0800 042 0800 in the UK or 1800 991 828 in Ireland.
