DI Ray season 2 cast: Who stars in the ITV series?

DI Ray is back on ITV for a second series and will see DI Rachita Ray (played by Parminder Nagra) lead the investigation into a fatal drive-by shooting

DI Ray is back on ITV, with DI Rachita Ray (portrayed by Parminder Nagra) being thrust back into a murder case following a deadly drive-by shooting outside a Birmingham hospital that leaves two people dead. A young nurse and the leader of a notorious local crime syndicate are the victims.

DI Ray is racing against the clock to uncover the truth before the crime boss's family seek their revenge and a gang war breaks out. The second series of DI Ray consists of six episodes.

ITV Commissioning Editor Helen Perry expressed her excitement: "Delighted that D.I. Ray will be returning to our screens for a second series. Not only is it an adrenaline-fuelled, gripping thriller, it is also a bold and unique police drama that has something to say about contemporary Britain."

DI Patrick Holden - Patrick Baladi

Patrick Baladi, a 52-year-old English actor best known for his role as Neil Godwin in The Office, is joining the cast.

He has also appeared in the drama Stella and the thriller Marcella.

The star portrayed Jimmy Lakewell in Line of Duty.

Baladi is married to actress Gemma Walker, whom he met on the set of A Touch of Frost.

Anita Choudhry - Dinita Gohil

Dinita Gohil, a British actress known for her roles in Greed, The Sandman and Silent Witness, is also joining the cast.

She is also known for her roles in Treason and The Last Train.

DC Charlene Ellis - Witney White

DC Charlene Ellis is played by Witney White, who previously starred as Scarlett Streatham in Father Brown back in 2023. She has also appeared in Holby City and Doctors.

Dave Chapman - Michael Socha

Dave Chapman is portrayed by Michael Socha, a 36-year-old English actor recognised for his roles in This Is England and Summer. He later starred in Being Human and Our World War.

He shares a son with his ex-partner Faye.

Sharan Mochani - Syreeta Kumar

Sharan Mochani is played by Syreeta Kumar, a British actress who featured in Coronation Street between March and September 2013 as DC Leslie, investigating the Rovers' fire. Her other notable credits include Line of Duty, Torchwood, Notes on a Scandal and Doctors.

Suzie Chapman - Lauren Drummond

Suzie Chapman is played by Lauren Drummond, a 36-year-old English actress best known for playing Mika Grainger in Waterloo Road. She also portrayed Chantelle Lane in Holby City and student nurse Faye Clark in ITV's The Royal.

Ravinder 'Rav' Mochani - Taha Rahim

Ravinder 'Rav' Mochani is played by Taha Rahim, a 43-year-old French actor who portrayed Charles Sobhraj in The Serpent. He is also recognised for his role in The Looming Tower.

The star is married to French actress Leila Bekhti and they have four children.
