Driver killed in crash that shut road for five hours

One vehicle was involved in the crash on the main road between Fron and Llanbister on the A483 near Llandrindod Wells

A driver has died after a crash that closed a main road for nearly five hours. Police were called to reports of a single-vehicle crash on the A483 near Llandrindod Wells.

It happened around 3.40pm on Tuesday, October 8, between Fron and Llanbister. A spokesman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: "Sadly the male driver passed away at scene. His next of kin have been informed."

The road remained closed while emergency services were at scene. It was re-opened by 8.30pm.
