Bus collides with two vehicles in late-night smash that shut Cardiff road

A road in Cardiff was closed for some time after a serious collision occurred after a bus collided with several parked cars. South Wales Police confirmed that their officers were called to the scene of the crash on Llandaff Road in the Canton area after the incident happened around 12.40am on Sunday morning, October 27.

The road was closed in both directions from the junctions between Cardiff Road and Romilly Road. Photos from the scene from a nearby resident, who did not want to be named, have shown the crash involved a bus and multiple vehicles on the road.

In a post shared on Facebook, South Wales Police said: "We are at the scene of a serious collision on Llandaff Road, Canton, Cardiff, from the junctions with Cardiff Road and Romilly Road.

"The road is currently closed in both directions. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible." In a statement later on Sunday, a spokesperson for South Wales Police confirmed the bus had no passengers and no injuries were reported.

According to the resident, the road was closed for over two hours. South Wales Police then confirmed that the road was reopened and thanked people for their patience. A spokesperson for the police force later confirmed enquiries into the collision were ongoing.

Their statement reads: "A bus with no passengers was being driven along Llandaff Road at around 12.40am this morning when it collided with several parked cars. No injuries were reported. Enquiries into the collision continue."
