Viktor Gyokeres let's slip Ruben Amorim's Man Utd plan that's bad news for Ruud van Nistelrooy

Sporting sensation Viktor Gyokeres has revealed that the departing manager Ruben Amorim is set to take a number of his backroom staff with him to Manchester United. Amorim, who has been confirmed as the new boss at United, will officially start his role on November 11, following one last match at the helm of Sporting—a visit to Braga on November 10.

His farewell game at Sporting couldn't have been more triumphant, with Gyokeres shining brightly as they demolished Manchester City 4-1 in the Champions League. The ex-Swansea City loan forward netted a stunning hat-trick, and Maximiliano Araujo also scored.

While the composition of Amorim's support team at United remains unconfirmed, it's rumoured he's keen to bring four coaches and a sports scientist from Sporting to Manchester. Speaking to UEFA about Amorim's upcoming move, Gyokeres acknowledged the significant impact of the staff changes: "We will miss him a lot," he said.

"We've done amazing things together. We will miss him and the other guys in the staff who will leave. We have to look forward and attack the next challenge ahead of us."

The news is potentially bad news for interim boss Ruud van Nistelrooy, who has expressed his desire to stay at the club and be assistant to Amorim.

Gyokeres also reflected on the memorable Champions League clash, saying: "It's always nice to score and even better to score a hat-trick. Most important was to win the game so it was a brilliant night for us."

Meanwhile, manager Amorim chose to downplay the significance of the win after the game, cautioning: "What I can tell you is that this [result] doesn't mean anything in particular - don't take anything from this," he said. "We cannot transport one reality to another. Manchester United cannot play the way we play and we will have to adapt."

He went on to express a mix of humility and excitement for the future, saying: "It's misleading, we were very lucky today, but the feeling with my players, the way they celebrate with the fans was very special. I take this with me but when I arrive to the Premier League it is a different world, different pressure. It will be fun, very fun, and I'm ready for the challenge."
