Boxers fall out of ring as huge TV bout stopped and fighter put in wheelchair

It takes the phrase 'up against the ropes' to a new level

A huge boxing match in Saudi Arabia ended in bizarre circumstances as both fighters fell out of the ring.

Ben Whittaker was up against the ropes in the fifth round and appeared to pull Liam Cameron towards him as they tumbled over the ropes.

Whittaker left the arena in a wheelchair before the scorecards were read out as the fight was halted. He complained about a back injury and an ankle issue while he was tended to by medical professionals.

"He [Whittaker] had nothing left. Kid was knackered from round two. I definitely beat him. I don't get a fair share. What more do I have to do?" Cameron said.

"Never had a promotional deal in my life and I tried my best to win that today and I think I deserved the win."

Whittaker and Cameron were both awarded a 58-57 score, with a third ruling it 58-58 draw, meaning it was a split-decision technical draw.

The IV Crown Showdown featured a plethora of the world's best boxing talent, with fighters locking horns at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh. Artur Beterbiev defeated Dmitry Bivol in the main event, as Fabio Wardley knocked out Frazer Clarke in the first round.

Chris Eubank Jr secured a knockout victory against Kamil Szeremeta before facing off against rival Conor Benn in the ring afterwards.
