BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans 'work out' who will be eliminated after 'deliberate set-up'

Strictly Come Dancing fans are convinced they know who will be eliminated from the BBC show this weekend after they were 'deliberately set up' by bosses

Strictly Come Dancing fans are certain that one celebrity is heading for the exit after being "set up" by bosses.

The BBC dance extravaganza returned to our screens for another thrilling episode, with the celebs and their professional partners stepping out once again in hopes of securing a place in the next stage of the contest after Nick Knowles' departure last week.

As Dr Punam and Gorka Marquez graced the dancefloor today, viewers seemed convinced that she was doomed to exit the competition tomorrow night. Some believe that Dr Punam was "deliberately" placed second in the performance queue - a position often dubbed as the "death slot". Fans expressed their suspicions on Twitter, with one stating: "punam in the death slot again? oh they want her gone so bad #Strictly."

Another chimed in: "I just said the exact same thing, that's Punam gone this week because they've deliberately put her in the death slot. #Strictly.", reports the Mirror.

A third remarked: "Punam in the death slot... they want her gone #Strictly," while a fourth commented: "Punam in the death slot twice in five weeks isn't nice #Strictly." Echoing similar sentiments, a fifth tweeted: "Punam death slot.... They are setting her up #Strictly."

Controversy clouded this week's Strictly proceedings following an "inside joke" incident between Wynne Evans and Katya Jones that backfired. A moment where Wynne placed his hand on Katya's waist - only for her to swat it away - and then his subsequent attempt to do so again led to the video circulating on social media. The viral footage raised eyebrows, causing fans to worry that Katya might have felt "uncomfortable".

She later clarified her feelings, stating that the incident was nothing more than a playful exchange between friends. Alongside a social media post, she said: "I need to make something crystal clear.

"The hand incident that happened on Saturday night was a very silly inside joke between Wynne and I. So even the idea that it made me feel uncomfortable or offended in any way is complete nonsense. It's actually absurd. So let's focus on how brilliantly @wynneevans is doing and what an amazing dancer he's becoming! Happy Sunday everyone!"

In other news, Nick Knowles was the fourth celebrity to leave the competition last week after struggling with an injury.

Reflecting on his exit from the dance floor, he expressed his regret at potentially disappointing his dance partner, saying: "I've really, really been surprised by how much I've loved doing it and by two things that happen. One is how much you care each week, and the other is how much you don't want to let down your partner. The only reason I could do this is simply because of Luba's changes, she's been amazing. There are some amazing dancers up there, and I will love watching the rest of the series."

Luba, visibly moved, praised his determination and effort: "I've never met someone as determined as you, and I remember you saying that if you do your best, you'll be very happy. I think you did more than your best. Thank you."

Strictly Come Dancing airs Saturdays and Sundays on BBC One.
