Joshua and Dubois clash at a packed-out Wembley Stadium tonight

by · Wales Online

Anthony Joshua is set for a huge fight against Daniel Dubois in an all British affair tonight.

Thirty-four-year-old Joshua is back in the ring for an IBF heavyweight title fight at Wembley, following on from his huge victory against Francis Ngannou earlier this year, in which he knocked out his opponent in the second round.

Dubois himself has defeated Filip Hrgovic and Jarell Miller in his last two fights, and will now have a shot at true boxing stardom against AJ.

His last defeat was against Oleksandr Usyk, who became the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world in May, after defeating Tyson Fury.

Joshua has not lost a fight since suffering back-to-back defeats against Usyk in 2021 and 2022. It's since these losses he has been beltless. Let's get to know the fighter a bit better ahead of the huge bout this evening...

What's Anthony Joshua's net worth?

Anthony Joshua has a staggering net worth of more than £63.5million thanks to a number of very high-paying bouts and sponsorship deals throughout his storied career.

Due to the fact he trains away from the UK for months at a time, the British heavyweight still lives with his mother, despite his eye-watering wealth.

Speaking to Good Morning Britain, he said: "I still live with my mum. I realised that when I started training - which I do away from home a lot - that if I'm away for 10 months of the year and then when I get back I've got to do commercial work I realise that if I was to move out I'd never actually see my mum.

"I'm away in various parts of the world for a lot of the time, but my actual base is at home with mum. So I can still wake up and see her and spend time with her when I can."

Sporty Salaries have reported that Joshua will receive a minimum of £6million for his fight against Dubois, with the potential for that to rise up to £25million depending on pay-per-view sales.

Anthony Joshua's love life and child

As far as the public is aware, Joshua is not in a relationship right now. Joshua had previously been rumoured to have dated celebrities Bella Hadid and Cara Delevigne, but the Englishman denied those rumours in an interview with Louis Theroux. "I haven’t been with any of those girls," he said simply.

He also went on to clarify that he's not currently with anyone, and his focus remains on his career and family. He likes to keep his private life locked down from the public.

He was previously in a relationship with Nicole Osbourne, and had a child with her in 2015, named 'JJ'. Joshua always tries to protect the privacy of his son, and hopes that he chooses a career away from boxing.

Speaking about JJ, Joshua said: "I would never let him box. I am not interested in him boxing. You have to be so strong mentally to be a boxer. I'm not saying he won’t be mentally strong but I would not want to put him through that mental pressure. I am sure he could fight, he will definitely have the genes to do it, but the mental side - that goes unspoken about - I would not want him to go through that.

"Imagine 'Anthony Joshua’s son is boxing' - there would be a target on his back straight away. It will be JJ’s choice but I will advise him he could probably do something completely different and still enjoy life - but he still has to work hard!"

Former world champions Eubank and Benn each shared the same sentiment as AJ in terms of their youngsters taking up a career in boxing, however, they were ultimately unable to prevent the calling.

Head loss after Usyk fight

Joshua completely lost his composure in the ring after losing to Usyk for a second time in 2022.

Losing via split decision in Saudi Arabia, instead of swallowing his pride and accepting defeat, Joshua went on a bizarre rant which began by him asking the crowd to clap for Usyk.

"Usyk is one hell of a f***ing fighter, let's give him a round of applause," Joshua said. "Sorry guys, look, if you knew my story you'd understand the passion. I ain't no amateur boxer from youth, I was looking at jail. I'm stealing this Usyk, I'm sorry but it's because of the f***ing passion. I'm not a 12-round fighter, I'm a new breed of heavyweight, Mike Tyson, Sonny Liston - they say 'he doesn't throw combinations like Rocky Marciano,' because I'm not f***ing 14 stone."

He also spoke with Usyk after his rant and made the odd decision to drape Usyk's Ukrainian flag around himself, before saying: "How did you beat me? You're not strong."

Fortunately for Joshua, he's bounced back well from this low period of his career, and hopes to put a stamp on his comeback with a win against Dubois on Saturday night.
