Cardiff Halloween Festival returns this autumn, promising to be bigger, better, and packed with more Halloween magic than ever before.

Running from October 12 to October 31, the festival takes place at the breathtaking Coedarhydyglyn Park, near Culverhouse Cross, St Nicholas.

With three distinct experiences - Daytime Festival, Twilight Festival, and Scare Fest - there’s something for everyone, whether you’re looking for pumpkin-picking family fun, enchanting Halloween evenings, or spine-chilling thrills.

Family and individual tickets are on sale now, along with a special Pumpkin Bonanza Deal offering four pumpkins of any size for just £10.

Daytime Festival: Family-friendly fun for all ages

Explore the sprawling pumpkin fields filled with thousands of pumpkins, perfect for picking.

For younger visitors, the Munchkin Pumpkin Patch features pint-sized pumpkins, Halloween houses, and a mini straw bale maze designed just for them.

New for 2024, the Monster Bash Family Disco invites families to dance the day away in a lively disco tent, while the Trick or Treat Scavenger Hunt provides a fun, interactive way to explore the festival grounds.

Children and adults can enjoy Circus Workshops, learning skills like juggling and diabolo, or be entertained by live stage shows and spooky storytelling.

For those with a magical touch, the Witch and Wizard Academy offers magical arts and crafts, allowing young spell-casters to create their own wands or mix potions.

Adventurers can tackle the Neon Spider Quest, a glow-in-the-dark maze where hidden spiders lurk within the twisting pathways.

Movie fans will enjoy the Skellywood Walk of Fame, a maze that recreates famous film scenes with a spooky skeleton twist.

And that’s just the start. With photo ops, fairground rides, face painting, axe throwing and more, the Daytime Festival offers the perfect Halloween adventure for families.

Twilight Festival: An enchanted evening for all

As day turns to night, the Twilight Festival transforms the grounds into a glowing wonderland, perfect for families wanting to enjoy Halloween after dark.

Wander through illuminated pumpkin fields, roast marshmallows at the fire pits, and be captivated by the festival’s spectacular fire show.

The Twilight Festival also features the quirky Singing Pumpkins, inviting guests to sing along to Halloween classics, as well as live performances on the Howl-O-Scream Stage.

Best of all, the Twilight Festival includes everything from the Daytime Festival - like pumpkin picking, circus workshops, and the Skellywood Walk of Fame - with the added magic of a starry night backdrop.

Scare Fest: A nightmare to remember

For thrill-seekers, Scare Fest returns, more terrifying than ever, with three live-action scare mazes for visitors aged 14 and over.

Face the horrors of Frau Totenreich’s Circus of Screams, encounter the vengeful witches of The Veiled Coven, or attempt to survive the apocalyptic chaos of Outbreak: District 19.

Each maze promises heart-pounding scares that will leave even the bravest visitors trembling.

Scare Fest also offers exciting attractions like axe throwing, thrill rides, tarot readings, and spooky street food.

To add to the terror, walkabout actors roam the festival grounds, keeping the frights coming even outside of the mazes.

Delicious food and drinks for all tastes

Indulge in a variety of street food options, from churros at Count Crumbula’s Creeps and Sweets to comforting dishes at Mummies Mac & Cheese, fresh pizzas from Dragon Fired Pizza, and mouth-watering burgers at Happy Harvest Burger & Fries.

For those seeking a drink, The Laughing Crow offers Halloween-themed cocktails and beverages - perfect for warming up on a crisp autumn evening.
