Cleotha Abston admitted to the crime in a Memphis court Monday, with the judge immediately sentencing him to life in prison without parole, WREG reported.
Fletcher, a teacher and a mother, disappeared while going for her usual early morning jog in September 2022.
Investigators discovered she had been forced into a dark van, and her body was later discovered with a gunshot wound to the back of the head.
Abston was arrested the day after she vanished.
