Man found hanging from tree inside NYC park after troubling text to roommate: sources

A dead man was found hanging from a tree Wednesday inside Pelham Bay Park in the Bronx – after he heartbreakingly texted his roommate that he had stabbed himself, cops and sources said.

Officers found the body around 1:30 p.m. in a wooded area at Orchard Beach Road and Bartow Circle, after responding to a call of a man hanging in the park, authorities and sources said.

The man, who has not yet been identified pending family notification, was found with cuts on his left forearm, neck and stomach, and investigators also found a 9mm shell casing nearby, sources said.

Cops say the city ME’s office will make an official determination as to the cause of death.
