“I hope we’re not entering a dark time” – Kamala Harris Accepts Defeat & Will Help Trump in Power Transition

by · WORLD OF BUZZ

4 years after leaving office, Donald J Trump cleared the 270 electoral vote threshold and reclaimed the White House after getting elected as the 47th President of the United States of America.

“It’ll be okay. I hope we’re not entering a dark time”

Vice President Kamala Harris has broken the silence and addressed the defeat by Donald Trump in a speech, and told the Americans that it’s not the time for anger and frustration.

“Do not despair. This is not a time to throw up our hands. This is a time to roll up our sleeves. This is the time to organise, to mobilise, and to stay engaged for the sake of freedom and justice and the future that we all know that we can build together”.

In her speech, Kamala also told the young supporters that it is okay to be disappointed, but the situation will be okay eventually, and told them that the fight for the country will always be worth it.

“Sometimes, the fight takes a while, but that doesn’t mean we won’t win. Don’t give up; you have power.”

Kamala also highlighted that she was aware of some people’s concerns about the possibility of them “entering a dark time” but assured the public by saying, “I hope that’s not the case, only when it is dark enough can you see the stars”.

So, what’s next for Kamala now that Trump has secured the major electoral vote?

The work will continue, Kamala said in her speech, but in quieter ways, and the VP assured the Americans that her hard work will go on in the background.

“The work includes how Americans treat each other and how they carry themselves in the neighborhood.”

Despite the defeat, Kamala also said that she accepts the result of the election and has personally congratulated Trump on the big victory.

“We will engage in a peaceful transfer of power, and I will help in the process.”

As per the report by BBC, Donald J Trump will be sworn in during the presidential inauguration on January 20, 2025. At the time of writing (November 7), Trump is still the president-elect, and JD Vance is the vice president-elect.

In the meantime, President Joe Biden will address the election results soon.

What do you think of Kamala’s defeat and Trump’s political comeback?
