Ben Affleck's Longtime Friend Kevin Smith Is Out Here Spilling About His Divorce from J.Lo

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have remained entirely silent on their breakup, divorce, and recent brunch hookup, but apparently Kevin Smith has some things to say!

While promoting his new film The 4:30 Movie, the director told People that his longtime buddy Ben Affleck is "one of my favorite people on the planet" and that J.Lo is "wonderful too." He then noted that "If they're not going forward, that breaks my heart and stuff, but I've always adored him."

Kevin revealed he hasn't spoken to Ben since last year, but apparently his wife has suggested reaching out, which he has no plans to do. "That would be very threatening," he joked. "That guy right now. He'd be like, 'Oh my God, Kevin Smith with his loose lips."

The Silent Bob actor went on to call himself Ben's "least trustworthy friend on the planet," adding "I'm sure I'll run into him again."

Reminder: Kevin attended J.Lo and Ben's wedding in Georgia, so they're definitely close! And Ben's also starred in a ton of Kevin's movies, from 1995's Mallrats to 2004's Jersey Girl (alongside J.Lo, no less).

As for what's going on with Bennifer, they're still in mediation, Ben just moved into his new Brentwood bachelor pad, and a source recently told Us Weekly that their divorce is 100 percent on. As they put it, “There’s still a lot of love between them, but the divorce is still going forward.”
