Pensioner claims trial to sexually assaulting daughters

KOTA KINABALU (Sept 19): A navy pensioner claimed trial in a Sessions Court here today to two counts of committing sexual physical assaults against his teenage daughters.

The 44-year-old, who appeared before judge Noor Hafizah Mohd Salim, was charged under Section 14 (a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, read together with Section 16 (1) of the same Act.

On the first count, he had allegedly touched the breasts of a 13-year-old victim at an unnumbered house in Papar at 4pm in August.

On the second count, he was accused of touching and sucking the breasts of another victim aged 14 and allegedly touched her private parts at the same place at 3pm on September 1.

The court fixed October 21 for pre-trial case management.

He was granted RM10,000 bail each with two local sureties.

The accused was also ordered to report himself to a nearest police station every first Friday of the month, pending disposal of the case.
