Bekenu multi-vehicle crash leaves three injured
by Jenifer Laeng · Borneo Post OnlineMIRI (Nov 12): Three people were injured – two seriously – in an accident involving three vehicles near Kampung Satap in Bekenu today.
Batu Niah fire station chief Rary Binjie said the seriously-injured pair was travelling in a car while the third victim was in a pickup truck.
“The duo in the car was pinned to their seats and had to be extricated by rescuers, while the individual in the pickup truck sustained chest injuries.
“The third vehicle involved in the accident was a lorry, but the two persons inside were unscathed,” he said.
He said upon receiving a distress call at 9.45am, personnel from the station were rushed to the location about 42km away.
The three injured victims were handed over to medical personnel and transported to Miri Hospital for treatment, he added.
