One killed, two others injured in two-vehicle collision in Selangau

SELANGAU (Oct 8): A man was killed on the spot, while two others sustained minor injuries in a collision between a car and a four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle at Selangau bazaar junction along Jalan Mukah-Selangau here today.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), in a statement, identified the deceased as 67-year-old Dian Igoh, who was the car driver.

“A team of 10 firefighters from Selangau fire station were deployed to the scene after receiving a call at 7.52am.

“The collision involved a car which was exiting Selangau bazaar junction and a 4WD, which was heading towards Bintulu from Sibu.”

Bomba said firefighters managed to extricate the car driver, who was trapped in the vehicle.

“Two other men, who were the driver and passenger of the 4WD, sustained minor injuries but were not trapped,” it added.

Bomba said the deceased’s body was handed over to the police, while the other two injured victims were handed over to the paramedics for further action.

The operation ended at 10.10am.
