MIRI (Oct 5): Two men sustained injuries after the pickup truck they were travelling in skidded and crashed into the divider along the Bintulu-Miri Pan Borneo Highway stretch near Charquest Estate today.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said a team of six from the Batu Niah fire station was rushed to the location following a distress call at 11.33am.

“The victims, aged 33 and 34, were travelling from Bintulu towards Miri when the accident happened. They sustained light injuries but were able to exit the vehicle on their own,” Bomba said in a statement.

It said the duo had been sent by the public to the Suai Health Clinic for treatment prior to the arrival of the Bomba team.

“The team proceeded to clean up the oil spill on the road resulting from the single-vehicle accident before departing back to their station at 12.18pm,” Bomba added.
