Lutong Baru homeowner’s quick-thinking saves house from being destroyed by fire

MIRI (Oct 8): A homeowner’s quick-thinking saved his house at Jalan Pointsetia in Lutong Baru from being destroyed after an electric water heater located outside the house caught fire earlier today.

Lutong fire station chief Henry Jugah said a team of firefighters was immediately despatched to the scene after receiving a call about the incident at 7.40am

“When they arrived, the fire had already been extinguished by the homeowner using a fire extinguisher,” he said.

Henry added that the team checked the surroundings to ensure that the fire had been completely extinguished.

“After confirming that it was safe, the team called off the operation at around 8am.”
