Six-year-old girl in Tatau believed attacked by crocodile, search ongoing

KUCHING (Sept 18): A six-year-old girl was believed to have been attacked by a crocodile while taking a bath in a river at a village across from the Tatau old bazaar this evening.

According to a statement from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the girl, identified as Cicilia Julan Intik, was having a bath with family members in the river around 6.30pm.

Her grandfather alleged to have witnessed the incident before calling for help.

Following the call, rescuers from the Tatau Bomba station were dispatched to the village before arriving at 7.30pm.

A Search and rescue (SAR) operation involving multiple agencies was promptly launched around the area where the girl was last seen.

At the time of writing, rescuers were still searching.
