(UPDATED) Tatau croc attack: Operation to find little Cicilia Julan Intik enters third day, search radius increased

BINTULU (Sept 20): The search and rescue operation (SAR) for six-year-old Cicilia Julan Intik, who was attacked by a crocodile on Wednesday, entered its third day today.

Tatau Police chief DSP Jame Reis said the search radius has been extended to 3km and 4km upstream and downstream today.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Operations Centre said the operation resumed at 8.03am with five personnel dispatched to the location.

“A briefing on the SAR operation for all agencies present at the location is currently being conducted before the search resumes in Sungai Annap, Tatau,” said a spokesperson.

The spokesperson added that the SAR operation, involved the police, Civil Defence Force, Sarawak Forestry Corporation Bintulu, and local residents.

Yesterday’s SAR operation covered a 2km radius from where the girl was last seen.

The SAR team covered Sungai Sap, Sungai Jelai, and the old Tatau bazaar river in the morning and then Sungai Kara, Sungai Pulau Pinang, and Sungai Tatau in the afternoon.

Cicilia had been bathing in the river with her grandfather and two friends when the attack happened.
