Elderly couple, motorcyclist hurt in three-vehicle accident

KUCHING (Nov 12): A senior citizen couple had to be extricated from their vehicle following a collision involving a lorry and motorcycle at the Kampung Padang Pan junction in Jalan Serikin, Bau today.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the couple, aged 70 and 65, and the 20-year-old motorcyclist suffered injuries and were sent to Bau Hospital for treatment.

“A team from the Bau fire station was rushed to the scene of the accident after receiving a call at 3.52pm.

“Early treatment was provided before the elderly couple was successfully extricated from their car,” it said in a statement.

It said the lorry driver did not sustain any injuries in the accident.

The rescue operation ended at 5.23pm.
