Lucky escape for trio after vehicle crashes, catches fire

KUCHING (Nov 12): Three women had a lucky escape after the vehicle they were in crashed and burst into flames at Jalan Loji Bayai in Sri Aman early today.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) in a statement said personnel from the Sri Aman fire station were rushed to the location after a distress call was received at 4.07am.

“The vehicle is believed to have caught fire following a crash, and was completely engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived at the scene.

“The driver and two passengers – all women – were able to safely exit the vehicle when the fire broke out,” it said.

Bomba said its personnel took several minutes to extinguish the flames, using water from the fire tender.

No injuries were reported among the three women, it added.
