Arsenal 'interested' in Premier League star as £42m striker emerges as 'target'

by · football.london

Arsenal are being linked with a new midfielder and a striker - according to the latest transfer rumours.

The Gunners will not be able to make any new signings to their squad until the transfer window opens in January in a couple of months' time. Mikel Arteta's side are currently in third place in the Premier League table and five points adrift of leaders Manchester City following the draw with Liverpool at the weekend.

Arsenal are preparing to face Preston North End in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night before facing Newcastle in the Premier League this weekend. Here, football.london takes a look at some of the latest Arsenal news and gossip that has emerged over the last 24 hours.

Arsenal 'interested' in Brighton midfielder

Arsenal are being linked with a move for Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba. According to talkSPORT, the Gunners are showing an interest in signing the 20-year-old, having been impressed with what they have seen following his first 12 months in the Premier League.

Brighton signed Baleba as a replacement for Moises Caicedo, who joined Chelsea in the summer of 2023. The report claims that Arsenal will have to battle Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur for the midfielder's signature.

football.london says:Arsenal have been linked with a move for Baleba in the past, and now it seems that speculation about the midfielder's future is intensifying ahead of the January window. The Cameroon international has been tipped for a bright future, and if the Gunners have the opportunity to agree a deal with Brighton, it's one that should be considered at the very least.

PSG striker linked with Arsenal move

Arsenal are being linked with a move for Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani.

According to L'Equipe, there is a chance the France international could leave PSG due to a lack of playing time. It has been suggested that Arsenal could sign Kolo Muani for a fee in the region of €40million (£33 million) to €50million (£42million).

Arsenal are reported to be looking to sign a striker in January to compete with Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus for the centre-forward position. It has been claimed that the Gunners will face competition from Manchester United for Kolo Muani's signature.

football.london says:It should come as no surprise to see Arsenal linked with signing a new striker yet again. Given the intensity of the rumours about adding a centre forward to the squad in the summer, should Kolo Muani be a target, then the speculation is only likely to ramp up as the January window moves closer.
