Harry Redknapp believes Chelsea are in the title race if they manage to beat Liverpool on Sunday.

The Blues travel to Anfield hoping to build on their impressive start to the season, with Enzo Maresca's side going into the weekend in fourth place. Liverpool went into the weekend top of the table, however, and have won six of their seven league games this season.

Ahead of the match on Sunday, former Premier League manager Redknapp has praised Maresca and Chelsea's start to the campaign. Predicting a 3-2 win to the Reds, Redknapp told football betting site BetVictor: "What a big game this is for both sides. Liverpool certainly aren’t as spectacular to watch as they were under Jurgen Klopp, but they sit at the top of the table and a win here would really lay down a marker for the rest of the season.

"As for Chelsea, win this and I think they’re in the title race. Enzo Maresca’s made a fantastic start this season, he seems to have found an 11 that he trusts, and he’s got some incredible individual quality at the top end of the pitch. They’ll cause problems to any defence.

"This could be a real thriller. I think Liverpool will get the win though, just!" Asked for his player to watch, Redknapp added: " Mohamed Salah has come back to haunt his old side time and time again and he looks as good as ever this season."

Alan Shearer believes the game will be won or lost in midfield, with the former Newcastle striker backing Slot's men to come out on top. Speaking to Betfair, Shearer said: "Chelsea will be happy to walk away from Anfield with a point, despite the injury to Alisson. I know they dropped points in their last home game vs Forest, but I would imagine Enzo Maresca would snap your hands off for a point here.

"The key battle will be in midfield, where I think Liverpool have been strong. Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis MacAllister have been superb, alongside Dominik Szoboszlai.

"The international break always makes it a little bit tougher to call, as you wait to see how players are when the return to their clubs, whether they’re ready or not to start the game. If everyone is fit and everyone plays, that midfield battle will be key, and I think Liverpool will come out on top."
