How to watch Preston North End vs Arsenal - TV channel, live stream and kick-off time
by James Quinlan · football.londonArsenal have eyes on their next potential piece of silverware when they travel to Deepdale to take on Preston North End in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.
The first trophy available to Arsenal in the season is the League Cup, with this year's final pencilled in for March 2025. Arsenal have already defeated Bolton Wanderers in the previous round, and play in the competition once again tonight. With a win, two more rounds would stand between them and a date at Wembley Stadium.
A clash against Championship opposition - one with the taste of blood for Premier League sides after defeating Fulham 16-15 in a penalty shoot-out last round - is never to be underestimated, but Mikel Arteta might utilise the midweek tie as a means to rest those players he's able to.
That said, a number of injuries within his squad may force the manager to name some regular starters as part of a generally 'weaker' line-up. Sunday's draw with Liverpool saw both Gabriel Magalhaes and Jurrien Timber forced off, providing further scares to their existing injury list.
Timber was confirmed to have just suffered cramp, but Gabriel might be added to their absentee's list that has already claimed Martin Odegaard, Riccardo Calafiori, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney. Back-up goalkeeper Neto is also cup tied having played for Bournemouth prior to his loan arrival.
Therefore, if Arteta chooses to rotate David Raya, 18-year-old Tommy Setford could be in line to feature.
