Chelsea news as Enzo Maresca's Blues take on Nottingham Forest on Sunday looking to continue their excellent form in their final game before the October international break

by · football.london

Chelsea will be looking to make it six successive wins in all competitions when they host Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge this afternoon.

Enzo Maresca's side have been in fine form since club football resumed after the international break and started this excellent run with a 1-0 win over Bournemouth. They followed that up with a 3-0 success at West Ham before thrashing Barrow 5-0 in the Carabao Cup.

The Blues were 4-2 winners against Brighton thanks to a four-goal haul from Cole Palmer last Saturday, before a much-changed side beat Gent 4-2 in the Conference League on Thursday. Maresca, who has won seven of his first 10 matches in charge after arriving from Leicester in June, made 11 changes to his starting XI to face the Belgian side but is expected to revert back to his usual Premier League team for the clash with Forest.

Nuno Espirito Santo's Reds have made a solid start to the campaign themselves. They had picked up an impressive nine points from their first five matches before last weekend's 1-0 defeat against Fulham. In that run, Forest had beaten Liverpool 1-0 at Anfield and Southampton by the same scoreline.

Considering that Forest have not lost on the road so far this season, it's not expected to be a straightforward task for the Blues as they bid to continue that winning streak.

When is the game and what time is kick-off?

Chelsea face Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, October 6. The game is due to kick-off at 2pm.

There are two other Premier League fixtures on Sunday. Aston Villa take on Manchester United, also at 2pm, while Brighton host Tottenham at 4:30pm.

Where to watch the game?

Unfortunately for UK viewers, Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest has not been selected for live TV broadcast. The game was originally scheduled for 3pm on Saturday but was pushed back due to the Blues' progression in the Conference League.

The Sky Sports app and YouTube channel will show highlights from 4:30pm with Match of the Day 2 broadcasting on BBC One at 10:30pm.

Team news

Cole Palmer, Nicolas Jackson and Enzo Fernandez are among those set to return to the Chelsea XI to face Forest. The Blues are set to still be without Reece James, who hasn't featured under Maresca but is fighting fit to be back after the international break. £19million summer arrival Omari Kellyman is out.

As for Forest, they will welcome back Morgan Gibbs-White from his one-game suspension after missing last Saturday's defeat to Fulham. Otherwise, there is no other long-term injuries with Ibrahim Sangare and Danilo still on the sidelines.
