The dad of a teenage girl being treated in hospital after a suspected acid attack outside a school has revealed she is worried she will be scarred for life.

Corey McFarlane also called for her attacker to be brought to justice while making the heartbreaking admission on Wednesday - two days after his 14-year-old daughter was hit by a corrosive substance along with a 16-year-old boy, whose injuries are understood to be less serious.

Police are hunting a male who escaped on an e-scooter after the attack outside Westminster Academy in Notting Hill, West London, at about 4.40pm on Monday afternoon. He is described as a tall, slim, Black male, wearing dark clothing with his face obscured, possibly by a mask or balaclava.

Mr McFarlane, 37, said: “This senseless act of violence has left her with severe injuries that require urgent and long-term medical care, surgeries, rehabilitation, and mental health support. As we focus on her recovery, we also need help to ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice."

A female teacher, 27, who bravely rushed to give first aid to the teenagers, was also treated in hospital before later being discharged. And two police officers, who were flagged down outside the school and helped the victims, were later treated in hospital as a precaution.

Mr McFarlane says his family “haven’t got any idea” of the attacker’s motive for carrying out the "unimaginable" attack on his daughter, who has not been named. He told how the schoolgirl, who he described as "a fighter", is in a stable condition after sustaining burns to the left side of her face, which it is feared could leave her scarred for life.

He has been staying at her hospital bedside, waking every couple of hours to administer eye drops and apply paraffin to her face "to keep everything in place". He said: "Words cannot express the shock, pain, and trauma she is going through right now, both physically and emotionally.

"She’s very traumatised by the attack. She's very scared about her injuries. She's a young girl, and these scars could be for life. She's very worried about that and has been asking about that."

He added: "I can't explain what I'm going through - words can't explain it."

Mr McFarlane says his older daughter, aged 16, doesn't feel safe to go to school following the attack. He has now launched a GoFundMe account to help pay for her sister's short and long-term treatment.

He said: "We are working closely with authorities, but any support we can get from the community to spread awareness, gather information, and assist in the investigation would be deeply appreciated. We are humbly asking for donations to help cover her expenses and support her journey to recovery.

"Any contribution, big or small, will make a huge difference in her life and help us take the first steps towards healing from this unimaginable attack."

Writing on GoFundMe, he added: "The funds raised will be used for immediate costs related to her care and long-term support. Your support, whether financial or simply sharing this campaign, will help us tremendously. My daughter is a fighter, but she needs her community behind her more than ever.

"Thank you for your kindness, love, and generosity in these incredibly difficult times."
