Suspense was at an all-time high for EastEnders viewers, as they tried to figure out what happened to Bianca - but another character may be on to Reiss Colwell.

EastEnders fans were reeling following Wednesday's trip to Albert Square, after Bianca Jackson (played by Patsy Palmer) finally learned the truth about Debbie's murder. But just as Reiss (Jonny Freeman) confessed, her days appeared to also be numbered, leaving BBC One viewers with the sneaking suspicion she could be killed off.

During this Thursday's instalment of the long-running show (November 7, 2024), the theory seemed confirmed when Reiss was first seen at No.25 trying to hide a mysterious chest from view.

When Martin Fowler (James Bye) called at Sonia's home to check up on Reiss, the accountant struggled to hold him off as the fruit stall holder spotted the enigmatic chest in the entrance. And to make matters worse, Reiss was unable to hide an injury he sustained from his latest showdown with Bianca.

Terrified of being exposed, Reiss shut the door on Martin, prompting him to enlist Callum Highway's (Tony Clay) help in later scenes. The police officer scoured the home for any clues, demanding that Reiss made a statement against Bianca for his injury, but Reiss was ultimately able to throw him off, sending him on his way.

Reiss later tried to dispose of the seemingly overloaded chest by carrying it to the boot of his car, but just as he prepared to drive off, he was caught up with Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) and Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) - who had the idea of calling Bianca to find out where she was. This led to an uncomfortable scene during which Bianca's phone was heard ringing but, unable to get a response from Bianca, Kim left a voice mail in front of Reiss.

Bianca's fate appeared to be sealed as Reiss returned to the warehouse, where his confrontation with Sonia's sister took place on Wednesday but when he walked in, a fuming Bianca welcomed him, throwing objects at him in a rage. Unfortunately for her, Reiss refused to let her go as he insisted on keeping her chained and locked in the warehouse until Sonia was released from prison.

This Thursday's trip to Walford ended with Reiss driving away from the warehouse, leaving Bianca behind. But could Callum have followed him to the warehouse and save Bianca in a later episode or even off-screen? The hunk is well-known for his bravery and his unwavering work ethic, meaning he could be the perfect character to figure out what Reiss has done to both Debbie and Bianca.

Determined to bring villains to justice, Callum could then bring Reiss to the police station to explain why Bianca was being held hostage in the warehouse. And if he is unable to bring Reiss down, he could even work out a plan with Bianca to make him confess to the murder of Debbie. But will that be enough to release Sonia from prison? Will Reiss ever be brought to justice?

While this remains to be seen, multiple viewers have had strong reactions to Bianca's kidnapping, as one of them wrote on Twitter, now X: "I've never hated an EastEnders character as much as I hate reiss colwell." Another commented: "Ok eastenders producers/writers get rid of Reiss now his storyline is dragging don't like how your making bianca look crazy." A third echoed: "this bianca and reiss storyline is just stupid cause why would she go with him into a random place on her own knowing what he’s capable of.." What trouble lies ahead?
