A manhunt has been launched after a woman was sexually assaulted while walking her dogs in Scotland.

The victim, in her 30s, was walking along a footpath in Paisley, Renfrewshire with two spaniels around 9pm on Friday, October 25. The man walked up in front of her, grabbed her, and assaulted her, reports say.

The suspect is thought to have been drunk at the time of the attack. Police have described him as white with facial stubble. He also had a small tattoo between the thumb and forefinger of his left hand.

Detective Constable Fraser Williams, of Renfrewshire CID, said: “Although the lady involved did not require medical treatment, this was very distressing for her to experience. Indeed, she was so upset that she was not able to report this to police for a couple of days.

“We would ask anyone who was in the area of Braeview Drive to Redhurst Way between 8pm and 9pm on Friday night, or who may have doorbell or dashcam footage of the area around that time, to get in touch. If anyone recognises the description of the man, then please contact police.”

Anyone with information can call 101 using incident number 1547 of Sunday, 27 October 2024. Alternatively, details can be given to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
