Prince Louis wears his emotions on his sleeve - whether he's reacting to loud noises, spontaneously dancing, loudly yawning, or pulling funny faces, the little royal openly shows his feelings at major royal events.

And he had onlookers in hysterics with one demonstrative move when he attended the Trooping the Colour in 2023. Louis was travelling in an open horse-drawn carriage with Prince George and Princess Charlotte, their mum, Princess Kate and Queen Camilla on the procession from Buckingham Palace. Judi James told Fabulous at the time how the future Queen managed to parent her trio during the public-facing outing. "Kate's firm but subtle signals ensure the children keep feeling enthusiastic and, in Louis' case, excited ," she noted. "She beamed with pride when Louis started miming drumming along with the band in the carriage."

"Talking to her children there were a couple of gestures of what looked like guidance about when to wave. There was also a spreading gesture of both hands that would normally mean quite a severe message of when to stop or what not to do , too. She also put her hands below public view in the carriage to mime that 'stop' or 'end' sign to them as though warning them where the boundaries were, and on the way back she was doing small reward nods and smiles for their good behaviour, to ensure they were enjoying the event too."

Despite her best efforts, however, Louis still managed to steal the show. The beaming youngster, sitting in-between his older siblings, was seen waving to the crowds as the royals made their way to Horse Guards Parade. But at one point he became distracted - and couldn't help but hide his disgust. Louis could be seen dramatically reacting to the smell of horse manure, comically holding his nose to emphasise the point.

Later on the balcony of the Palace, the young prince continued to entertain as aircraft zoomed overhead for the spectacular flypast. He was seen covering his ears from the noise before pretending to be one of the daring pilots in the sky high above him. 2023 was quite a year for little Louis. As well as attending his first Royal Family carol service, he took part in his first official engagement, volunteering with the Scouts, and almost stole the show at the Kings' Coronation.

Louis provided plenty of light relief throughout the historic event, delighting viewers with his expressive mood - and many yawns. Given his age and the length of the service, Louis was very well-behaved – as were his siblings. But he struggled at times. During the two-hour service in Westminster Abbey, Louis was spotted holding hands with his sister Charlotte, yawning, as well as whispering to her in the pews.

It was then time for a carriage ride through the streets of London. And while he happily smiled and waved to the crowds – using both his hands – he also couldn't help but yawn some more as they made their way to Buckingham Palace. The public have a soft spot for Louis ever since his funny - and entirely age-appropriate - antics during the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee in 2022. While the then-four-year-old was only seen on two occasions over the bank holiday celebrations, he delivered plenty of meme-worthy content.

His first appearance of the weekend was on the balcony of Buckingham Palace on Thursday alongside the Queen and other members of the royal family. Standing next to the monarch to watch the RAF’s flypast, Louis pulled several animated faces, covered his ears and screamed into the air. He was also spotted having a sweet exchange with his great-grandmother, putting a big smile on her face.

Louis really came into his own at the Jubilee pageant on the Sunday, however. At one point, seemingly bored, he sank down into his seat and covered his face, and was later photographed intently reading the programme. But he soon got into the spirit of things, and was seen dancing along to the music and cheering on performers from his seat. Louis was also spotted sweetly kissing his mum, resting his head on her shoulder and giving her cuddles - before later wagging his finger at her, sticking out his tongue, and covering her mouth with his hand as she tried to speak.
