Prelimary autopsy results show the singer died from multiple injuries sustained in his fall that led to “internal and external haemorrhaging.” According to two forensic pathologists, named locally as Santiago Maffia Bizzozero and Victor Roberto Cohen, the conclusions were met following a post-mortem on Thursday in Buenos Aires.

There are now further tests being carried out to determine whether Liam had consumed drugs and/or alcohol which could have played a contributing factor in his tragic death. The autopsy took place at a city morgue in Viamonte Street a 15-minute drive south-west of Hotel CasaSur Palermo, the boutique hotel where the 31-year-old Brit plunged from a third-floor balcony yesterday around 5pm local time.

Alberto Crescenti, a director of emergency medical response service SAME, had earlier revealed the injuries sustained by the former boyband member included a broken skull. He said the injuries were “incompatible with life” and referred specifically to the head wound. He added: “According to the emergency medical team sent to the scene he had a fracture in the base of his skull, extremely serious injuries.”

Photos of inside his hotel room reportedly show white powder, foil, empty champagne glasses and a smashed TV. Police are said to be planning to investigate who supplied the star with the drugs being linked to his death if tests confirm narcotics were found in his room.

Photos purporting to show the inside of the deluxe suite the late dad-of-one had checked into earlier this week were published by Argentinian media hours after Liam's death. News outlets, including La Nacion and Clarin, seemingly confirmed the photos which showed traces of a white powder and burnt aluminium foil. The images also showed a smashed TV are were said to have been taken inside Liam's room at the upmarket Hotel CasaSur Palermo.
