Tom Skinner slammed by fans as The Apprentice star reveals he loves Donald Trump
It was announced on Wednesday morning that Donald Trump has won the presidential election 2024 and a former the Apprentice UK star has since shared his thoughts on the politician
by Joel Leaver · The MirrorA former candidate on the Apprentice has prompted reaction on social media after criticising David Lammy whilst praising president-elect Donald Trump this week.
It was announced on Wednesday morning that Trump, 78, had won the 2024 presidential election in the US. The politician was the Republican Party's nominee, whilst Kamala Harris was the nominee for the Democratic Party.
Following the news, criticisms previously made by Foreign Secretary Lammy, 52, about Trump were brought up during Prime Minister's Questions in the UK. He's criticised Trump in the past, including reportedly calling him a "woman-hating, neo-Nazi-sympathising sociopath" when he was a backbencher in 2018.
Lammy is thought to since have met with Trump alongside Keir Starmer earlier this year and following the news of Trump's win this week, Lammy tweeted: "Congratulations to @realDonaldTrump on your victory. The UK has no greater friend than the US, with the special relationship being cherished on both sides of the Atlantic for more than 80 years. We look forward to working with you and @JDVance in the years ahead."
Thomas Skinner, 33 - who appeared on BBC's the Apprentice in 2019 - criticised Lammy in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Wednesday afternoon. It included a photo that showed a glass of Fanta on a table beside a pool. He wrote: "David Lammy has made a proper t*t of himself hasn't he. This is the Geeza we have representing the UK. Why don't we have real people in politics, business owners and real people who actually know how to become successful and stand up for what is right. People that have been in real life situations and had to adapt. Not be a weathercock."
Thomas added: "Anyway I love Trump I think he is brilliant, that's my opinion. I think it's good he is back in charge, it will be good for the UK economy. UK always piggy backs off the USA. We all have opinions that is mine. Happy Wednesday I'm gonna drink another lemon Fanta and eat some paella."
The tweet - which has thousands of likes - has prompted reaction on the platform. Several people questioned entrepreneur Thomas' comments and disagreed with his support of Trump. One wrote: "Oh Tom, and I liked you so much, until just now ………" Another said as their response: "Thought better of you Tom he's a dangerous menace."
A third person questioned: "You have a wife and daughters. What do you think of Trump's attitude towards women?" Someone else commented: "Damn turns out you're a great tv personality for the apprentice but have really questionable views on the world. Shame." Another said: "Probably not the best take Tom."
A number of his followers were however in agreement with him. One person wrote: "Good on you Tom you echo our sentiment perfectly.." Someone else said: "Well said Skinner." A third fan reacted: "Totally with you there Tom." Whilst one person replied: "Just so you know I'm with you!"
