BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans 'feel sick' over moment branded 'worst in show's history'

Strictly viewers were left 'begging' producers to stop after a comment from one of the judges left them feeling 'sick'.

The second week of the BBC dance competition kicked off with a Latin and ballroom theme, with the contestants taking on the challenge, with varying degrees of success. But one couple who have stunned the judges, is professionally trained dancer and Love Island star Tasha Ghouri and her partner Aljaž Škorjanec.

As they prepared for their Viennese Waltz, Craig Revel-Horwood got talking with host Tess Daly about the couple's performance last week. Tess set Craig up for his 'sickening' comment, asking the veteran Strictly judge: "There's only really one way to describe our social media star, isn't there, Craig?"

Craig replied: "Skibidi rizz, darling. Ski-bi-di rizz!" Rizz is short for charisma, while skibidi generally means 'uncool' and bad at flirting. Thankfully, Tess brushed past Craig's use of the phrase, leading straight onto the next segment. But despite the judge's attempt to connect with a younger audience, Gen Z viewers and their apologists were left mortified by the exchange, taking to social media to share their second hand embarrassment.

One Twitter user wrote: "Why has craig just said skibidi rizz... i feel sick #strictly." Another added: "Craig saying skibidi rizz on Strictly is the worst thing to happen to this society." A third pleaded for change, commenting: "I am begging the scriptwriters to stop the TikTok speak. Mindful & Demure last week, Skibidi Rizz this week STOP IT #Strictly"

Another shocked viewer pondered what they had just witnessed, typing: "Didn’t have hearing skibidi rizz on strictly on my 2024 bingo board but here we are." While another had simply had enough: "Oh hell nah, Craig Revel Horwood just said 'skibidi rizz' on Strictly Come Dancing. That's it, I'm ending it all." Someone else couldn't cope, adding: "The brainrot neurochip activating watching Strictly when Craig says 'Skibidi Rizz'." While someone else just had one question: "Who told Craig to say skibidi rizz and WHY?"

Luckily, Craig's faux pas didn't put Tasha off her moves, as the 26-year-old and Aljaž took to the floor and performed the Viennese Waltz to 'Misty Blue' by Dorothy Moore. The star elegantly floated across the dancefloor in a cobalt blue ball gown and the judges had nothing but positive feedback for Tasha after her soon-to-be record-breaking performance.

Head judge Shirley Ballas remarked it was the "dance of the night", admitting it made her "quite emotional". Fellow judge, Anton Du Beke said: "Give us a chance, I wanted a fault so I could mark you down, seamless flow, immaculate frame, gorgeous footwork." Craig Revel Horwood also called it the "dance of the night", while, Motsi Mabuse said: "Love watching you, you brought us in, keep it up, amazing."

After the couple performed, Tasha broke down in tears, before going on to receive the first nines of the series, giving her a total of 35 points. The pair made history as the first duo to score the highest ever for a Viennese Waltz in week two.
