Aston Villa handed double injury boost as Unai Emery pinpoints duo's return date

by Press Association · The MirrorAston Villa pair Tyrone Mings and Boubacar Kamara are set to return to first-team action after the forthcoming international break.
Mings has been out since last August with an ACL injury with Kamara missing since February with a similar, but less serious, problem. Both players are set to feature for the club's under-21s next week and are in position to be involved for the trip to Fulham on October 19.
Boss Unai Emery said at his press conference ahead of Sunday's trip to Ipswich: "They are training very well. They started to be 100 per cent completely training with us last week. The plan with them is to try and start playing with the under-21s next week for 45 minutes. After the break they will be available if everything goes well."
Villa will be without John McGinn for the trip to Portman Road after he injured his hamstring in the win against Wolves last week while Diego Carlos and Matty Cash remain doubts. Ipswich are yet to win on their return to the Premier League, but Emery knows it will be a tough trip to Portman Road.
"They are playing very well," he said. "They're not getting points like they deserve, but they are being competitive. They played against Liverpool at home and lost, but they were playing very well. They drew against Fulham at home and played very well.
"They drew the last two matches against Brighton and Southampton, playing very well. My expectation for Sunday is that they will play very well and we have to compete to adapt to them and stop them because they're aggressive in their high press and their duels."
