P Diddy is set to appear in court today as he tries for bail yet again in New York.

The singer, whose real name is Sean Combs, has already had two bail pleas rejected, offering $50million for his release. Now, the 54-year-old is set to try for the third time as he hopes to be released before his trial.

Diddy has spent three weeks behind bars so far after being arrested on charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. He is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, New York while he awaits trial.

Since his initial arrest upwards of 120 victims have come forward, but Diddy maintains his innocence and is demanding a trial as early as spring. He is set to face a judge in a Lower Manhattan federal courtroom later on Thursday where he is expected to receive an outline of the anticipated timeline for the rest of his case.

Diddy's lawyers have also filed a motion for an evidentiary hearing. They have accused the government of leaking sensitive information from the case. Certain concerns surround how surveillance footage of Diddy seeming to beat his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in a hotel lobby was made available for the public to see.

In a statement, Diddy's attorney said: "A series of unlawful government leaks, which have led to damaging, highly prejudicial pre-trial publicity that can only taint the jury pool and deprive Mr. Combs of his right to a fair trial."

As his legal team try to get the star granted bail, they argue he doesn't hold a conceivable flight risk despite the claims made by federal prosecutors. According to TMZ, Diddy's lawyers say the huge bail offer that was made includes enough restrictions that would address any possible concerns about witness tampering and flight risk package. The publication also claims the offer included the Bad Boy Records founder having no female visitors outside of his family before his trial.

According to legal documents filed by the rapper seen by the Daily Mail, his legal team have argued that he is "not a threat to the community". Despite the singer being in jail, reports suggest certain celebrities are still "afraid to cross him". A source told People: "He's so powerful. Everyone was afraid to cross him. Even though he's behind bars now, he's still so powerful. We all knew it even back then."

Diddy was reportedly visited in jail by his mum Janice Combs and his twin daughters this week. TMZ reported the reunion was "emotional".
