It comes as BBC presenter Nick Knowles' future on Strictly was revealed this evening. The DIY SOS star will be making an epic return to the show, BBC bosses have announced.

A BBC Spokesperson said: “We are all delighted that Nick Knowles and Luba Mushtuk will be dancing in this Saturday’s show. Nick has been cleared to dance by the medical and physio teams following his injury last week. Due to time taken out of training this week, they will be performing their Movies Week Charleston to Rain On The Roof from Paddington 2.”

Nick was left left watching Movie Week backstage after a second injury ruled him out of performing on the live. show. The TV builder couldn't take to the dance floor for Saturday's performance due to a "quite painful" knee injury sustained after taking a tumble in Friday's practice session.

The DIY SOS presenter was spotted looking downcast as he made his way to the BBC studios on Saturday afternoon, crutches in tow. Turning to Twitter /X with a snapshot of himself tuning into the show later in the day, Nick shared: "Gutted not to be out there with everyone tonight on the @bbcstrictly dance floor, but still suited up and cheering them on from the sofa."

The well-wishes were flying in thick and fast as Movie Week kicked off on Saturday, with host Claudia Winkleman sending a heartfelt shout-out: "Nick we are sending you love and wishing you a speedy recovery." Nick and partner Luba Mushtuk were scheduled to delight viewers with a Charleston to 'Rain On The Roof' from Paddington 2.

In line with Strictly's regulations, the duo "received a bye" to this week's show. Speaking on the BBC's companion programme Strictly: It Takes Two via a pre-recorded clip, Nick shared last week: "During our first dress rehearsal today, or run-through of the dance number on the stage, unfortunately I damaged my knee and it's quite painful. So the physios have decided I need to go for a MRI."

Luba added: "Unfortunately we will not be dancing tomorrow but we really, really hope that the knee will be better for the next week and we'll be back on the dance floor. Fingers crossed, we really hope that we'll be back and see you guys very soon." Nick expressed his resolve, stating "even if we have to glitter up the crutches, I am determined to get back and try and dance for you next week".

Nick expressed his resolve to soldier on earlier this week and said he was "very hopeful" about returning to the Strictly dancefloor on Saturday night. He mentioned that his leg is improving "a little bit better" each day. During an appearance on It Takes Two, Nick shared that if he can endure two days of practice, "it's not necessarily the end of it".

In a heartfelt Instagram post, he updated his Strictly followers: "I have to see how I get on - and then a decision will be made on Friday. I just wanted to take this moment to say thank you for all the well wishes that I've received and encouragement from everybody. And I'm hopeful that I will be dancing on Saturday." The star was already powering through performances with an arm injury incurred while changing a tyre, and now he confesses he's "sick and tired" of the mishaps plaguing him.
