Strictly Come Dancing front-runner Tasha Ghouri appeared to be holding back tears after sailing through to next week with dance partner Aljaž Škorjanec.

Tonight, the pair were confirmed to have received enough votes to return, and they seemed over the moon with their results.

It comes after they were the top scorers on Saturday night, sitting at the number one spot on the leaderboard thanks to their lively Charleston to Anne-Marie's cover of Unhealthy by Shania Twain.

Love Island star Tasha warned her co-stars in the studio that she was "going to get emotional again" when host Claudia Winkleman asked her about her family.

Claudia told her: "Tasha, on Saturday night it was an emotional night for you.... When you got those scores and I was looking at your face, I almost went. Tell me what it meant to you."

A visibly emotional Tasha replied: "I think it's because my Mum and Nan are in the audience. Especially my Nan... She's like my best friend and I'm going to get emotional again."

Her voice shook, as she continued: "I just went out there and had the best time but having Nan and Mum there was special. And it was their first time coming, so it really was a special moment."

Aljaz then unveiled which dance they would be doing next week, telling excited fans: "We're going to be doing a Tango to [The Dogs Day Are Over by Florence and the Machine]."

Last night Tasha and Aljaz topped the leaderboard while Dr Punam Krishnan and Gorka Marquez’s Jive landed them in bottom place with 20 points.

Tasha is one of the celebs tipped to be in the Strictly final this year thanks to her incredible dance ability and loveable personality.
