Love Island heartthrob Andrew Le Page opened up about a health scare that left him thinking his time was up. The 29 year old former estate agent shared how at just 20 years old, he received a life-altering diagnosis of a brain tumour. The Guernsey-born hunk rapidly made moves to the capital for urgent surgery not long after the bombshell discovery, reports OK!

Dishing the details to his girlfriend, Strictly Come Dancing contestant Tasha Ghouri, on her podcast 'Superpowers With Tash', he reminisced about the shocking events, saying: "So I had like a lump on my head for a few years, and my brother felt it and he was like 'Andrew, what is wrong with you? What is that? ' and I was like 'I don't know, I've had it there for a while.'"

Pressing on with his harrowing tale, he recounted: "Then and there, he called up the doctor and got me an appointment and I had an MRI scan, then went back to the doctors again, and they told me I had this brain tumour, and it was like 'what the hell?'"

Describing the aftermath of his diagnosis, he said: "I went back into my car, started crying, and literally went back to work that afternoon. They all knew I'd gone to the doctor's for it, and they were like 'Andrew, how'd it go? ' and I couldn't speak. Eventually one of my colleagues went to my boss and said 'I think Andrew needs to go home and process this.'"

Andrew shared his thoughts on his frightening health scare, revealing: "This is major, having a brain tumour at 20. Within two weeks I flew to London and had surgery and got it removed, but at the time it was so scary, what could have been. Luckily my brother called the doctor because I would have left it. I thought it was just part of my skull, it was hard so I thought it was my skull, and it was big as well."

He also shared the emotional turmoil he faced when first learning about his condition: "When I was first told I was crying in the car, I literally thought that's it, I'm 20 and that's it, I'm done. I thought my lie was over. I'm so young and this is it. I was just really terrified, I was so scared, I can't believe I went back to work, I should have sacked that off. I didn't know how to tell anyone. I told my mum and dad straight away obviously and my brother."

Despite the challenges, Andrew and Tasha's romance, which blossomed on Love Island, has shown no signs of fading. The couple, who captured hearts and snagged fourth place on the reality show, continue to prove their relationship is more than just a holiday romance.

Tasha is currently dazzling Strictly enthusiasts with her moves, dancing alongside professional Aljaz Skorjanec. In a chat with OK! last week, Tasha opened up about Andrew's support, saying: "Andrew's just so happy that I've stopped talking about it and am finally doing it. I've been in his ear, probably once a day, for two years, saying, 'I want to do Strictly SO much! ' But he's super proud."
