R Kelly's daughter has accused her dad of sexually assaulting her when she was just a child.

26-year-old Buku Abi has said that she remembers her father sexually abusing her before she was 10-years-old. She made the claims in TVEI Streaming Network's two-episode documentary Karma: A Daughter's Journey that the disgraced 57-year-old musician had abused her when she was eight or nine-years-old.

She claimed that she was around 10-years-old when she first reported the crime to her mother in 2009. Kelly is currently in a medium security federal prison in North Carolina where he is serving a 31-year sentence. He was convicted in 2021 and 2022 of multiple child sexual abuse charges.

In the documentary, Buku said: "He was my everything. For a long time, I didn’t even want to believe that it happened. I didn’t know that even if he was a bad person that he would do something to me. I was too scared to tell anybody. I was too scared to tell my mom."

Buku didn't share any of the details of the abuse she allegedly suffered. But, she agreed that prison is a "well-suited place" for her dad to be.

She then opened up about how the alleged abuse changed her life. Buku said that "one millisecond completely changed my whole life and changes who I was as a person and changed the sparkle I had and the light I used to carry". She then explained that she no longer visited her father after she told her mother about the abuse. Her brother Robert and sister Jaah also stopped going to see him.

People reported that Kelly's attorney Jennifer Bonjean told them: "Mr. Kelly vehemently denies these allegations. His ex-wife made the same allegation years ago, and it was investigated by the Illinois Department of Children & Family Services and was unfounded.... And the 'filmmakers,' whoever they are, did not reach out to Mr. Kelly or his team to even allow him to deny these hurtful claims."

It comes after his other daughter Joanne discussed her relationship with her father, and insisted she would not be taking her young son to meet the star in prison. “I really feel like that one millisecond completely just changed my whole life,” she said of her father’s conviction in 2022. “If my son asks questions, I’m going to be as truthful as possible. And I will not be taking my son to prison to meet his grandfather.”

The I Believe I Can Fly hitmaker was sentenced to 30 years in prison after being found guilty of racketeering and sex trafficking charges, and in February last year, he was handed another 20-year prison sentence on charges of child pornography and enticement of minors for sex. He is currently residing in the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Chicago, and has tried - and subsequently failed - to appeal his sentences.

Joanne, 26, spoke of the broken relationship she has with her father, and heartbreakingly added: “Nobody wants to be the child of the father that is out here hurting women and children. He knows exactly why we can’t have the relationship that we would have liked to have with him.” She later became visibly emotional as she discussed her father, and added: “He was my everything. For a long time, I didn’t even want to believe that it happened. I didn’t know that, even if he was a bad person, that he would do something to me.”
