Molly-Mae shares 'heartache' for Liam Payne's family in moving tribute to One Direction star

Molly-Mae Hague has shared a heartbreaking tribute to former One Direction star Liam Payne, expressing how her "heart aches" for his loved ones.

The former Love Islander is the latest in a string of celebrities to share a tribute to the 31-year-old singer-songwriter after he fell to his death from the third floor balcony of a hotel while holidaying in Buenos Aires with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy.

Police are said to have been called to reports at the hotel of a "man acting aggressively at the hotel who could be under the effect of drink or drugs". It's believed that Liam fell from around 13 or 14 metres and suffered "very serious injuries incompatible with life." Police say the music star’s hotel room had been "in complete disarray" with "various items broken". A whiskey bottle, lighter and mobile phone had been retrieved from the internal hotel courtyard where Liam’s body was found.

Yesterday evening Cheryl Tweedy broke her silence two days after the tragic death of her ex-partner. Liam, who found fame with the mega-band shared a son, Bear, seven, with singer Cheryl Tweedy. The former couple welcomed Bear in 2017, but the two split up the following year after two and a half years together. Liam and Cheryl kept Bear out of the spotlight but shared rare glimpses into their lives as parents.

In a heartbreaking statement she said: "As I try to navigate this earth shattering event, and work through my own grief at this indescribably painful time, I'd like to kindly remind everyone that we have lost a human being. Liam was not only a pop star and celebrity, he was a son, a brother, an uncle, a dear friend and a father to our 7 year old son. A son that now has to face the reality of never seeing his father again."

The chart-topping singer went on to add: "What is troubling my spirit the most is that one day Bear will have access to the abhorrent reports and media exploitation we have seen in the past two days. It is breaking my heart further that I cannot protect him from that in his future.

"I am begging you to consider what use some of these reports are serving, other than to cause further harm to everyone left behind picking up the pieces. Before you leave comments or make videos, ask yourself if you would like your own child or family to read them. Please give Liam the little dignity he has left in the wake of his death to rest in some peace at last. Thank you, Cheryl."

Former X Factor Sharon Osbourne didn't hold back when she said the music industry had failed One Direction star Liam Payne, who was "just a kid" when he entered "one of the toughest industries in the world."

Taking to Instagram Sharon, 72, wrote: " Liam, my heart aches. We all let you down. Where was this industry when you needed them? You were just a kid when you entered one of the toughest industries in the world. Who was in your corner? Rest in peace my friend."

Writing on her Instagram stories she expressed her sorrow, saying: "I haven't been able to stop thinking about the most heartbreaking news of Liam's passing. It has utterly shocked me. I met Liam a few times and he was such a genuine and kind person - always making the effort to talk to me and ask how I was. I just can't stop thinking about his family, his son, girlfriend and friends. My heart aches for them. Rest in Peace Liam."

Liam's One Direction bandmates have said they are "completely devastated" by the news of his death, adding: "The memories we shared with him will be treasured forever."

In a statement signed "Louis, Zayn, Niall and Harry", Liam Payne's One Direction bandmates said earlier: "We're completely devastated by the news of Liam's passing. In time, and when everyone is able to, there will be more to say. But for now, we will take some time to grieve and process the loss of our brother, who we loved dearly.

"The memories we shared with him will be treasured forever. For now, our thoughts are with his family, his friends, and the fans who loved him alongside us. We will miss him terribly. We love you Liam."
