Nando's is launching new menu items including Peri Peri sauce made with popular fizzy drink

The chicken shop chain has created the brand new peri-peri sauce with Fanta Orange Zero Sugar as the two flavours go "hand in hand" with the new flavour being "sweet and tangy"

Nando's has shaken up its menu for Halloween and has teamed up with a popular fizzy drink to create a brand new peri-peri flavour.

The chicken shop chain has created the brand new peri-peri sauce with Fanta Orange Zero Sugar as the two flavours go "hand in hand". The new spice has a "sweet and tangy" orange flavour with a little kick of spice, so it will appeal to those who enjoy the heat a little toned down. On the chain's "PERi-ometer", Nando’s new Fanta flavour comes in between Mild and Medium.

Chicken fans will be able to enjoy the new sauce front and centre with five Nando's X Fanta chick wings which you can get on their own for £7.25 or with two regular sides for £12.95. Of course, the new PERI-PERI flavour will be available across all of the Nando's menu so if chicken isn't your thing, you can also get the Fanta flavouring on one of the chain's veggie or vegan options. This includes things like the "Great Imitation" wrap, the Beanie Burger and the Mushroom and Halloumi Pitta.

The flavour comes along with some brand-new menu items. The first is a new starter - which will set you back £4.75 - was inspired by a hack from Nando’s employees; the Cheesy Garlic Pitta. This is a toasted sourdough pitta with melty cheddar cheese, garlic, spring onions and a hint of PERi-PERi, served with red pepper chutney on the side.

A new burger is also being introduced. The Cheesy "Chickle" Burger features grilled chicken breast with melted cheddar cheese, PERi-ketchup, Garlic PERinaise, lettuce, and a stack of herby pickles, served in a new, soft Portuguese roll. And it's not just that, as the chicken chain will also be launching a new All-in Platter for two and a Garlic Churrasco PERinaise dip pot. The platter will ser you back £33.75 - or £16.87 each - with the new PERInaise dip pot costing £1.

The new items will be introduced to Nando's menus across the UK and Ireland on Tuesday, October 15. To celebrate the news menu items - and to get into the Halloween spirit - Nando's is hosting a Halloween party at Manchester's Printworks restaurant. Tickets for the party will be on sale soon, with Nando's urging fans to "keep an eye out" on their sociel channels.

Earlier this year, the chicken shop chain joined forces with Arsenal football star Bukayo Saka to create his very own Nando's sauce. The "PERi-PERi Saka Sauce" added a smoky BBQ and tomato flavour alongside the restaurant's PERi-PERi sauce which gave it a medium heat on the PERi-ometer. At the time, Saka said: 'The sauce mixes sweet, spiciness and smokiness. The sauce was available in Nandos stores across the county for a "limited" time. Nando's has not confirmed whether the new Fanta team-up will be a limited-time thing or whether it will become a permanent feature on its menu.
