EastEnders fans 'rumble what happened to Harry's girlfriend' as real killer 'unmasked'

EastEnders teased a new mystery involving Harry Mitchell's missing girlfriend Shireen on the BBC soap, with it feared he had killed her - but is someone else to blame?

EastEnders fans think they know what might have happened to a mystery character who was declared missing on Monday night.

Harry Mitchell appears to be hiding something dark after months of hints that he and his family are running from something. His dad Teddy Mitchell previously claimed they had moved to Walford to start again, and get away from their past.

Soon it emerged someone was trying to track them down, with it assumed Teddy's ex Nicola could be this person. Ahead of her debut though, it seems something not linked to her could be being covered up.

After Harry sparked a war with love interest Penny Branning's father Jack Branning, amid their blackmail plan, a secret was revealed. Jack spoke with his daughter in private, warning her away from Harry.

It's then that he revealed Harry's ex-girlfriend Shireen was missing, and had not been heard from. It emerged that Harry and his ex had had a row just before she disappeared, and that he wanted to end their romance leading to drama.

According to Jack everyone who lived in the area believed Harry had killed her, and that this led to their move to Walford. But did Harry really murder Shireen?

One theory is that Harry's ex was murdered but not by him. Perhaps he was involved or not, but it was actually Teddy who killed his partner.

The theory read: "So based on what Jack said about Harry I'm gonna guess that Teddy killed his girlfriend for him or something and Ravi just p***ed off a serial killer by dangling his son from a bridge." Others speculated the girlfriend wasn't really dead, and maybe Jack was lying.

One fan said: "We don't know much about Harry but it definitely seems more of a 'people jump to conclusions' so he didn't really kill her." A third added: "Did Harry do something or is Jack making up the story to keep his daughter away and protect his own neck?"

A further comment read: "Good job Harry p**s off a police officer what’s the worse that can happen." Jack had told Penny after digging into Harry: "He's dangerous, they think he might have killed his girlfriend."

He went on: "He reckons they moved here because everyone down there way knows he did it." As Penny suggested she might have simply ran away, Jack told her: "He wanted rid. They'd had a massive argument, loads of witness supposedly. He was the last person to see her alive then nothing." So is Harry or even Teddy a killer?
