BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans blown away as they spot Emmerdale icon in the audience

Strictly Come Dancing returned on Saturday night with its famous Halloween special.

Strictly Come Dancing fans couldn't believe their eyes after spotting Emmerdale icon Lisa Riley in the studio audience on Saturday night. The Mandy Dingle actress was spotted clapping along with her partner.

Taking to X, one fan penned: "Lisa Riley is in the #Strictly audience."

"Yes it is, I love her."

Last weekend, Paul Merson was eliminated from the show after a dance-off against JB Gill.

When asked about his time on the show, Paul shared with Tess Daly: "It's been really good. For anybody I talk to, I would say you've got to go on this show. It's amazing - everybody. There's a Tottenham fan over there called Lincoln, and he's nice!

"It's been amazing, honestly, amazing. I loved every minute of it, I've had a great teacher. She's been amazing, absolutely amazing, and I couldn't wish for a better coach.

"I've loved every minute of it. I can dance now. I won because I can dance. I couldn't dance before, but I can half dance now. It's a bonus, absolute bonus."

However, another celebrity will be eliminated on Sunday night, and according to the bookmakers, Punam Krishnan is the favourite to leave.

Strictly Come Dancing returns on Sunday at 7.20pm on BBC One.
