Oasis announce extra dates for reunion tour after huge demand by fans

Oasis have added four more dates ahead of their reunion word tour amid 'phenomenal demand' by fans and will now play in North American cities including Chicago and Los Angeles

Oasis has announced four extra dates to their reunion world tour next year.

The rock band will play in North American cities including Chicago, Toronto, New Jersey, Los Angeles and Mexico City. And tickets are likely to sell out in record time, similar to when tickets went on sale in the UK. At the time, UK fans were left frustrated as they found themselves waiting in queues for hours.

The demand for pre-sale registration of the North American leg of the tour has forced the band to add four more dates, in a bid to quell demand. The band's official Instagram account posted a message that read: "Due to phenomenal demand, additional dates have been announced in Toronto, East Rutherford, Los Angeles and Mexico City!"

And while fans could not contain their excitement, many were asking for the band to play in South America. One fans said: "cool, now announce South America." Another added: "Brazil is waiting for you." Meanwhile a third person chimed in: "Come to Chile!"

Earlier this week, the group ruled out dynamic pricing on the back of huge backlash at the cost of tickets for the concerts in the UK and Ireland. Noel and Liam Gallagher announced they had reunited back in August. They have now said they will tour Canada, America and Mexico. Their first performance is set to be in Toronto, Ontario on August 24 next year, followed by a second show in the city.

They are then expected to play in Chicago's Soldier Field four days later, the New York Giants' MetLife Stadium on August 31 and September 1. This is then followed by Los Angeles' Rose Ball Stadium on September 6 and 7. The band will also play two concerts in Mexico City on September 12 and 13.

A statement from Oasis' management read: "Ticketmaster's dynamic pricing model will not be applied to the forthcoming sale of tickets to Oasis concerts in North America. It is widely accepted that dynamic pricing remains a useful tool to combat ticket touting and keep prices for a significant proportion of fans lower than the market rate and thus more affordable."

It added: "But, when unprecedented ticket demand (where the entire tour could be sold many times over at the moment tickets go on sale) is combined with technology that cannot cope with that demand, it becomes less effective and can lead to an unacceptable experience for fans."

The statement concluded: "We have made this decision for the North America tour to hopefully avoid a repeat of the issues fans in the UK and Ireland experienced recently." UK and Ireland fans, who missed out on tickets to see the rock band, were recently told to head to Benidorm to watch a tribute act, deemed as the "next best thing."

According to @thebenidormfanatic,they posted a message telling fans: "Oasis Benidorm is a must see if you can't get tickets." And their post was supported by one social media user who wrote: "So much cheaper to go to Benidorm and see this amazing act than the real thing."
