Trackers to keep an eye on your valuables as AirTag, Galaxy SmartTag 2 and Tile drop in price
Bluetooth trackers from Apple, Samsung, Tile, and Chipolo have plummeted in price
by Harriet Morphy-Morris · The MirrorZipping into a suitcase pre-flight, clipping around your pet’s collar, into your wallet or even into your car, these are all popular reasons shoppers are buying Bluetooth trackers. The Apple AirTag, Samsung Galaxy Tag, and Tile tracker may come to mind first but there are a load of options that don’t come with the expensive price tag.
The Apple AirTag is one of my favourites, a mix of in-app ease and tracking make up for this, and I’ve used my pair regularly when travelling abroad. While I also rate the Tile tracker if you regularly switch between iOS and Android phones.
As Black Friday fast approaches these must-have tech accessories are soaring in the sales. Thanks to Amazon’s new £28 price for the Apple AirTag, the cheaper £18 price of Samsung’s Galaxy SmartTag2, and four-packs of ‘seamless’ key finders for £20.

There are plenty to look at, so as an avid user of these penny-sized trackers (not quite, but they are tiny) I’ve rounded up the brands worth looking at. Especially if you want to keep an eye on your keys, luggage and wallet.
Samsung Galaxy Tag2 - Cheapest ever price
This week the Galaxy Smart Tag2 has been another one at the top of our list as it drops down to £18 cheapest price. Usually this tracker costs techies £38.99 each. It’s had more than 4,000 five-star ratings from Amazon shoppers, so on top of our Tech team recommendation, it’s one to look at to keep an eye on your valuables.
“They're small, easily attached to items by the hoop incorporated in the design", said one shopper. Having scoured the specs of these smart tags it’s worth noting that it will work best with a Samsung phone.
Tile Tracker - Best for switching between iOS and Android
Tile matches Apple when it comes to range, offering a 10m range. This means it will show up on your app map within this distance, any further and it’ll ping to other users nearby as a ‘lost item’.
I batted a Tile tracker and Apple AirTag against each other when flying to Nice, France popping each in a different suitcase to test their tracking and accuracy. I found that “Tile is miles ahead when it comes to working on a bigger range of smartphones, including Android, whilst Apple is not surprisingly restricted to its own iPhone.
Chipolo Tag - Fits in a wallet that Apple doesn't offer
Chipolo offers similar tracking to the likes of the Apple AirTag but its compact into a thin wallet tracker. At £26 for one, it’s also a reasonably priced gadget.
I have one in my card holder as we speak, which I’ve previously ditched my AirTag for as reported in The Manchester Evening News. Don’t worry, I still have an AirTag on my (in another bag most of time) but I find the Chipolo Card more discreet.
“The sleek Chipolo wallet finder works through its own app, which tracks the device through Bluetooth. Like many rivals, Apple and Samsung, you can 'ring it' to sound a loud alarm in the hopes of finding your misplaced item nearby. Let's say your bag is stolen (hopefully not) you can then activate the 'lost mode' for items out of range”, as I reviewed.
The card can also send an out-of-range alert to your phone it'll send a ping straight through to your phone. The only downside I’ve found is that the batteries on these cannot be replaced.
