It’s been eight years since Chloe Patton documented her surprise pregnancy on Teen Mom UK aged 17, and while the TV star is celebrating her tenth series on the show, fans should prepare for deja vu - baby number two is on the way. The 26-year-old, who shares son Marley with fiancé Jordan Edwards, announced in September that she is pregnant with her second child. She reveals that after being thrown into parenthood as a teenager, she couldn’t be more ready for a bigger family.

“I look back on series one and I’m a child with this tiny baby,” she says. “It will definitely be a different experience this time. We’re more financially stable, we’re older, we’re wiser. Jordan is going to be such a hands-on dad - he’s always been amazing but he wanted the baby even more than I did!" The young couple took the plunge to expand their brood whilst slowly renovating their Nottingham home, which they moved into last year.

“I had my contraception out at the end of last year so we left it in the universe’s hands. It was a lovely surprise,” she says. “Jordan and I both said that when we had finished renovating the bedroom, we would be more chilled about having another child. Once that was finished, the stress was done and we thought, ‘If it happens, it happens.’”

While it’s been nearly 10 years since Chloe was last pregnant, she admits that it’s more “draining” this time. “I found out at ten weeks last time so I was carrying on life as normal as I didn’t even know I was pregnant. Maybe I was getting exhausted but didn’t notice. This time, my body has been shattered but I’ve been really lucky in that there’s no sickness,” she says.

Unlike her pregnancy with Marley, Chloe is determined “not to hide” her bump from the world. “When I was pregnant last time, I didn’t leave the house until I was seven or eight months along. I was so young, I was so scred of what people were going to think,” she says. “Whereas now, I’m embracing it. I still feel really young but I have friends that are having kids now - it’s more normal.”

Chloe and Jordan broke the exciting news to their families after the UEFA Euro final in July. “We brought out a jumper that we had bought for Marley, it said: ‘Promoted to big brother.’ My mum was nearly crying and my dad was really neary, which isn’t like my dad. They were super chuffed,” she says.

Meanwhile, Marley can’t wait to have a little sibling. “He’s been asking for a baby brother or sister since he was four. When he was five, he was obsessed with having a little sister and he even asked for one in a letter to Santa for years,” she smiles. “He’s so excited, he’s going to be absolutely fantastic.”

Chloe’s baby joy couldn’t come at a better time for their family, which goes through tough times in the new series of Teen Mom UK. “It’s one blow after another, it was a really hard couple of months,” she says. “I lost my friend, my grandma passed away and then my dad was diagnosed with cancer. A lot of things happen in such a small space of my life. I haven’t moved on but every day gets easier. One of my faults is that I’m not good at talking about my emotions but having the camera there with no one to judge, it’s like a counselling session in a way. I had such a supportive camera crew on the ground who made it a lot easier.”

Thankfully, Chloe’s dad is on the mend. “He’s got the all-clear. He has to be checked regularly but the operation went really well - that was a good end to the series.” Chloe likes to think that her late grandmother - who she called Mama - had a role to play in her pregnancy. “I think my mama sent me this baby to bring some joy in the really hard year that we’ve had,” she smiles. “My dad is really excited to have another grandbaby.”

Aside from the darker times in Chloe’s life, the new series of Teen Mom UK also sees her celebrate 10 years with Jordan. The couple, who became engaged in 2022, have come along way since their dramatic beginnings as young parents on the show. “We’re not really shouters, maybe when we were teenagers but now, we wouldn’t scream and shout at each other,” she says. “We talk about it. Our communication is so much better now than it’s ever been and I feel like Jordan has grown up so much. A lot of our arguments in the past stemmed from him not helping when he was 17, he hadn’t made a bed before.

“Everyone has disagreements but we have more patience now. We haven’t got a tiny baby at 17, squashed in my mum and dad’s room. I try to see where he’s coming from and he does the same with me - especially as parents. I would never go against him in front of Marley. That’s what makes us a good team.” While she’s shared the screen with her co-stars Sassi Simmonds, Mia Boardman and Amber Butler, Chloe admits that it’s hard to meet up with them in real-life.

“We talk all the time on our group chat,” she says. “We have a good gossip about how our series went but we’re so far away. There’s always one of us that isn’t free. We were going to go to Alton Towers, but now I’m pregnant so I’m the inconvenience here!”

Teen Mom UK airs Wednesday 16th October at 8pm on MTV UK.
