Arsenal news: Striker transfer offer confirmed as Alexander Isak update emerges
Arsenal are in the midst of their preparations for their showdown with Championship side Preston North End in the Carabao Cup but transfers have once again been on the agenda for the Gunners
by Daniel Orme · The MirrorArsenal take a break from their Premier League commitments in midweek but will still be in action.
The Gunners travel north for a clash with Championship side Preston in the Carabao Cup. It is the first of a number of fixtures across what promises to be a busy few weeks for Mikel Arteta's side.
Arsenal then take on Newcastle at the weekend, before games against Inter Milan and London rivals Chelsea before the November international break. And Arteta has already had his side hard at work on the London Colney training pitches.
But away from the clash against Preston, transfers have also been on the agenda in North London. With that being said, take a look at all of the latest headlines from an Arsenal perspective.
Gunners turn down Jesus bid
Palmeiras president Leila Pereira has revealed that his side have had an enquiry turned down for Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus. “Gabriel Jesus is not coming,” Pereira told ESPN.
“We got in touch with Arsenal, and they said ‘Leila, there are no conditions whatsoever. We are not going to negotiate on the player.’ The subject is closed.”
Jesus has been an Arsenal player since arriving for £45m from Manchester City in 2022. He has gone on to make 79 appearances in all competitions since then, scoring 19 goals. Jesus, 27, has just under three years remaining on his contract in North London.

Newcastle hit with Isak blow
Arsenal could have a perfect opportunity to swoop for Newcastle star Alexander Isak with the club's Saudi owners expected to reduce their level of funding. Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund confirmed recently that they would be scaling back their foreign investments.
It comes at a time when boss Eddie Howe admitted that the club are reluctant to hand Isak a new contract. He said: "That's a slightly more complex situation.
"Regarding contracts, I'm not involved in those discussions day to day. With Alex, he's got a long contract anyway at the football club and we have to be really careful with our spending due to profit and sustainability rules (PSR). It's not a clear-cut situation."
Ex-Arsenal boss pushed towards Man Utd
Former Manchester United star Dwight Yorke has urged the Red Devils to make a swoop for ex-Arsenal boss Unai Emery. Speaking to SafestCasinoSites.co.uk, Yorke said: “What I’m about to say might baffle the football world, but if it was me, I would go and get Unai Emery from Villa.
“He’s the guy that United needs right now. Zidane is a sexier name, but he’s always been reluctant to come because his English isn’t very good.
“That’s been well documented. He’s definitely in the elite managers category. I think Unai Emery is the one manager right now who can match and compete with the likes of Carlo Ancelotti, Zinedine Zidane and Pep.
“I’m not going to be very popular at my old club for saying it, but Emery is the best candidate given Zidane’s reluctance to come to England. He is the man that I would go out and do everything to try and get.”
